Sassi Brings ‘Raw Power and a Strong Arm’ to NorthPaws Outfield
The Kamloops NorthPaws newest recruit will help solidify defense in the outfield and add power to the lineup next summer.
Joe Sassi, a corner outfielder from Piedmont, Calif., is the newest addition to the NorthPaws inaugural roster.
“He’s a guy who will bring big raw power and a strong arm from the infield corner positions,” said head coach Cole Armstrong. “We’re excited about the potential he brings. We have a lot of guys we expect to see big improvements from during the spring and summer and Sassi is definitely one of those guys.”
Bowling Brings Big Bat to NorthPaws
The Kamloops NorthPaws have added another powerful bat to the inaugural infield.
Dalton Bowling, a sophomore corner infielder from NCAA Division I San Jose State University (SJSU), adds another bat with big pop to the NorthPaws lineup.
“Dalton was a highly touted prospect out of high school,” says head coach Cole Armstrong. “With a big bat and strong glove, he really fits how we’re trying to build our roster. We have a good mix of guys who can hit for power and play solid defense at the corners.”
New NorthPaw Excited for Return to His Home Province
Tommy Green is looking forward to the 2021 season to finally get back into a ball game and to do so in his home province for the first time since 2018.
Green, the newest member of the Kamloops NorthPaws infield, did not see any game action in 2020.
The redshirt sophomore shortstop at Cuesta College, a junior college in California, fractured his hand before the season opener. Once it had healed, the COVID-19 pandemic had already put an end to the season.
NorthPaws Add Size to Inaugural Roster
The Kamloops NorthPaws roster is getting bigger.
Six-foot-six first baseman Zack Beatty and 6’9” pitcher Shay Timmer have signed with the Kamloops expansion team for the 2022 season.
Beatty is in his sophomore season at McCook Community College (NJCAA Division I). Timmer is a right-handed freshman at Salt Lake Community College (NJCAA Division I).
